Bio
Marty Mar is an independent artist. He also is an engineer, writer, producer, CEO, and more. Marty has been making music all of his life. He has been writing since age nine, and has been recording since the age 13. Marty Mar (Born Martin Clardy) was born May 16, 1992, in Kansas City, Kansas. He has one sister, Jocelyn Clardy, born June 12, 1991. (Lady Jozzie) They have been living together and have been very close all off their lives. Marty’s parents got a divorce when he was 6. Him and his sister has been living with their mother ever since. Marty has been heavily influenced by music all of his life. The first song he ever memorized was Ice T_ Colors, at the age of four. Early in life, some of his music influences were Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, The Four Tops, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. At the age of nine Marty Mar started writing music. Just like most developed artist, Marty did not start off as a great rapper. He also went through several monikers before he settled with Marty Mar. Since then he has done many of local talent shows and has performed anywhere possible. When he was 13, he thought his dream came true. He, and his sister, signed a recording contract with his cousin and his longtime friend who were local rappers. Jozzie and Marty were shamefully lied to, marketed wrong, and led in the wrong direction. They were told lots of things would happen to their careers and they would be very successful, but none of that happened. Lady Jozzie and Marty Mar left the label. After they left the label, Marty Mar felt that his back was against the wall. He had no clue what to do next. But in May 2007 he made the best decision he ever made in his career. He started his own record company, Ontaponegro Entertainment (O.E.) and built his own studio. He taught himself how to work all of the programs he had, and how to produce. Lady Jozzie was one of his artists. They released the successful mixtape, You Feel Me Vol. 1. That was their first release ever. It was hosted by DJ B-Eazy and featured other artist. After the success of Vol. 1, lots of local rappers tried to sign with O.E. Marty signed them, but little did he realize, he was making one of the biggest mistakes of his career. After he signed approx. 7 artists, he realized that they were not musicians at all. Marty Mar wrote most of their music and wrote every hook. They recorded many never released songs. They had a released date, but Marty pulled on the deal, and dropped everyone except Lady Jozzie. In January, 2008, Marty Mar released his first solo mixtape, The Corpse. It was very successful. He is currently working on his album entitled, Time is Everything. The album is produced by Marty Mar and will be released late spring.
